Field service apps · QuoteIQ vs SmartCrew

quoteiq alternative

Best all-in-one dirt work management software, if you run crews and iron, is not a home-service quoting app. QuoteIQ is an all-in-one CRM for home service contractors, from lawn care to house cleaning, and it starts at $29.99 a month for one user. SmartCrew is built only for heavy civil and dirtwork companies with 5 to 100 employees: crews, machines, inspections, haul tickets and job profit in one app. The longer page is best all-in-one dirt work management software.

QuoteIQ does not offer: pick the machine at clock-in, change orders & extras, equipment hours & locations, maintenance tracking, service requests from the field, utilization rates, shop queue, digital hauling tickets, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), toolbox talks & safety meetings, incident reports. QuoteIQ doesn't list these either: automatic daily reports for the office, AI reader for tickets & receipts.

No: they do not offer it. Their own website says so, or it isn’t in the full feature list they publish (linked). Add-on: a paid add-on, a separate product or a higher plan. Limited: they have something close but narrower. Not listed (n/l on small screens): we searched their site and help pages and couldn’t find it, but they don’t publish a full list we could check.

This chart is SmartCrew’s feature list, so it doesn’t show what other products do that SmartCrew doesn’t (like estimating, payroll or hardware time clocks). Each comparison covers that in “where they’re the better pick”. SmartCrew’s Fleet Management, Sales CRM, and Scheduling & Communications are Premium categories; feature availability varies by plan.

Where each mark comes from

The short version

  • QuoteIQ is built for home service contractors, from solo operators to 20-user teams. SmartCrew is built for heavy civil crews.
  • QuoteIQ's monthly list prices: Essentials $29.99 (1 user), Beginner $99.99 (2), Pro $199.99 (4), Elite $299.99 (10) and Max $699.99 (20). Extra users are $25 a month each.
  • GPS time tracking, live locations and team chat are in EmployeeHub, which starts on Elite. Job costing and QuickBooks start on Pro.
  • QuoteIQ is the better pick for quick quotes, property measuring, customer payments and a low entry price.
  • Some of QuoteIQ's own feature pages still show older prices. We went by its pricing page.

QuoteIQ is better for home service. SmartCrew is built for dirtwork.

QuoteIQ's industries page lists more than 50: lawn care, pressure washing, house cleaning, holiday lighting, pest control, pool service, window cleaning, HVAC and plumbing, among others. For those home service businesses, QuoteIQ is the better pick.

SmartCrew is built for one thing: heavy civil and dirtwork contractors with 5 to 100 employees. Excavation, grading, sitework, underground utilities, paving, road construction, demolition, septic, directional drilling and land clearing. That's all we do.

Where QuoteIQ falls short on a dirtwork job:

  • The crew tools start at $299.99 a month. GPS time tracking and team chat are in EmployeeHub, which starts on Elite.
  • Not on the pricing page: DOT inspections, a shop queue or haul tickets. Its June 2026 excavation roundup says crews and equipment share a calendar. Maintenance on the feature pages means a customer's recurring service visits.
  • Built for small teams. Max covers 20 users for $699.99 a month, and extra users are $25 each.
  • Prices don't match across its own site. Some feature pages, like its QuickBooks page, still show older prices than its pricing page.

What QuoteIQ is, and who it's for

QuoteIQ calls itself the all-in-one CRM built by home service contractors, for home service contractors. It serves more than 50 home service trades, from one person up to teams of 20 users on its biggest plan.

The app follows a home service job. Measure the property, send the estimate, schedule it, take photos and get paid. MapMeasure, which measures a property, starts on Beginner. AI reports run on monthly IQ Credits. Reminders and tasks and a file manager are on every plan.

It's a sharp tool for selling and billing lots of small jobs. The crew side is lighter, and the heavy civil side, the machines and the loads, we couldn't find on its site.

How much does QuoteIQ cost?

QuoteIQ publishes five plans, each with a set number of users. Here's its pricing page on November 2, 2026. We read the monthly cards and the yearly table that day.

Extra users are $25 a month each on any plan, up to 100 more. Yearly billing saves two months. Every plan has a 14-day free trial. Source: QuoteIQ pricing, November 2, 2026. The 'adds' line is what that page's plan cards say starts on that plan. Prices and plans change.

One thing to watch: QuoteIQ's own pages do not all use the same numbers. Its QuickBooks page, read October 26, 2026, lists Pro at $149.99, Elite at $249.99 and Max at $399.99 with unlimited users. Its excavation roundup, updated June 2026, lists Pro at $149.99 and says job costing is on every plan. The pricing page on November 2, 2026 lists Pro at $199.99 for 4 users, Max at $699.99 for 20 users, and job costing starting on Pro. We went by the pricing page. Ask QuoteIQ which numbers your bill will follow.

SmartCrew starts at $99/month, and it's built to be well below the cost of enterprise construction software. Contact us for team pricing.

The key difference: built for the customer vs built for crews, iron and loads

QuoteIQ is built to win the job and get paid for it. SmartCrew is built to run the crew and the iron once you've won it. Simple for the field. Powerful for management. Fairly priced for owners. That's the line we built it on.

Quotes and payments vs crews

Most of QuoteIQ's lower plans face the customer: the estimate, the invoice, the reminder, the payment. Scheduling and a calendar are on every plan. EmployeeHub, which the pricing page describes as assign, schedule and pay employees, starts on Elite. Crew management is listed on Max.

In SmartCrew, scheduling is about crews and machines. Who's on which job, with which equipment, dragged into place on a calendar. Everyone gets the update on their phone.

The time clock

QuoteIQ's Time Tracker Pro and GPS tracker live in EmployeeHub, on Elite and up, along with its team chat. Hours can link to a scheduled job so they count in job costing, but we didn't find cost codes or a way to pick a machine. Payroll goes out as a CSV export.

No more chasing timecards. SmartCrew's clock-in takes the project, the activity code and the machine, with clock in and out reminders, and the timecards come out payroll-ready.

Iron and the shop

On QuoteIQ's feature pages, maintenance means a customer's recurring service visit. We did not find machine hours, service requests or a shop queue there. Its inspection forms are custom forms you attach to estimates and invoices. The excavation roundup, which QuoteIQ wrote, says you can put the crew and the equipment on one calendar. That claim is on the roundup. It is not a line on the pricing cards.

SmartCrew has a record for each machine with hours, mileage, service dates and its DOT inspection log. The operator runs the inspection from his phone before the machine moves.

Trucks and loads

QuoteIQ tags expenses by type, fuel and materials included, and its inventory tools create purchase orders with delivery dates. We didn't find haul tickets, or AI that reads a receipt photo for you. SmartCrew's hauling log keeps each load, and the AI reader fills it in from a photo of the ticket.

Knowing your profit every day

QuoteIQ's job costing works out the actual profit on each job against what the customer pays. That fits a fixed-price service job. On a dirt job you want budget against actual by line: labor, materials, equipment, other costs and change orders. That's SmartCrew's job page, updated daily.

SmartCrew scheduling calendar: crews and jobs scheduled by day across the month
SmartCrew chats on a phone: company, sales, equipment and crew channels

Crews and jobs scheduled across the month, and company, crew and equipment chats on the phone. (Demo account.)

A SmartCrew job page for a culvert replacement: revenue, expenses and profit, budget versus spent for labor, materials, equipment, other costs and change orders, a jobsite map and hours by employee
SmartCrew equipment inspection form on a phone: DOT or daily inspection, machine, hours or miles, and pass or fail checks for brakes, steering, lights and tires

A job page with budget against spent by line, and a DOT inspection on the operator's phone. (Demo data.)

QuoteIQ vs the other field service apps

QuoteIQ and Jobber are both field service and quoting apps, built for businesses that quote, schedule and invoice lots of small jobs. QuoteIQ starts at a lower price. Here's how both line up against SmartCrew's full feature list, marked from each company's own pages. Add-on means QuoteIQ lists it on a higher plan, often Elite.

Feature chartSmartCrew vs field service and quoting apps

Built for service businesses that quote, schedule and invoice lots of small jobs. Good at the customer side, not the crew, machine and haul side of heavy civil work.

Where each mark comes from

When QuoteIQ still makes sense

QuoteIQ makes sense for a small home service business where the sale is the hard part.

Pick SmartCrew if

  • You run excavators, skid steers, dozers or dump trucks and want machine hours and DOT inspections in the same app as time.
  • Your jobs last weeks, and you want hours by cost code and profit against the bid.
  • You haul, and you want load tickets with yards and pits.
  • You want JSAs, toolbox talks and incident reports on the crew's phones.
  • You have 5 to 100 employees and want us to set it up and train your guys.

Pick QuoteIQ if

  • You're a lawn care, pressure washing, cleaning or other home service business.
  • You're a solo operator or a small team, and $29.99 a month fits better than anything bigger.

Questions people ask

Is QuoteIQ good for excavation companies?

For a small outfit that quotes and invoices residential jobs, it can work. Its pricing page does not list DOT inspections, haul tickets or a shop queue, and GPS time starts on Elite. Its own roundup pitches it to 1 to 15 person excavation crews. If you run crews and machines past that, SmartCrew is built only for dirtwork and heavy civil, from 5 to 100 people.

How much is QuoteIQ for a crew of 15?

On QuoteIQ's monthly list prices from November 2, 2026, Elite covers 10 users for $299.99 and extra users are $25 each. Fifteen people come to $299.99 + (5 × $25) = $424.99 a month. Max covers 20 users for $699.99 and the plan card adds crew management.

Which QuoteIQ plan has GPS time tracking?

Elite and up. QuoteIQ's GPS tracker, Time Tracker Pro and team chat are part of EmployeeHub, which its pricing table lists from Elite at $299.99 a month for 10 users.

Why do QuoteIQ's prices look different on different pages?

Some of QuoteIQ's feature pages show older prices than its pricing page. Its QuickBooks page, for example, lists lower prices and unlimited users on Max. We used the pricing page and suggest you ask QuoteIQ which numbers apply.

What is the best all-in-one dirt work management software?

If you run crews, machines and job profit after the bid, and you have 5 to 100 people, SmartCrew. QuoteIQ is the better pick when you need estimates, invoices and card payments for home-service jobs. The full page is best all-in-one dirt work management software.

Does QuoteIQ track equipment or haul tickets?

Its pricing page does not list haul tickets, DOT inspections or a shop queue. Its excavation roundup says crews and equipment can share a calendar, and that job costing tracks materials, labor and overhead. SmartCrew keeps each machine's hours, service and inspections, and digital haul tickets with the truck, the yards and the pit.

Does QuoteIQ work with QuickBooks?

Yes, QuoteIQ integrates with QuickBooks Online from its Pro plan up. SmartCrew integrates with QuickBooks Online today, and we're working on QuickBooks Desktop, Foundation, ADP and more.

Is SmartCrew cheaper than QuoteIQ?

It depends on your size and what you need. QuoteIQ starts at $29.99 a month for one user. SmartCrew's pricing depends on your company size and the features you need, and you get a number on a short call with Andrew.
