Sales CRM · Premium
dirt work software with crm
Dirt work software with crm keeps the next bid and the crew in one app. SmartCrew Sales CRM tracks leads, bids, and follow-ups. It is Premium. The same login has GPS time tracking, live crew locations, job costing, equipment, DOT inspections, daily reports, haul tickets, scheduling, dispatch alerts, crew chat, safety forms, files, and QuickBooks Online. It does not estimate.

The short version
- Sales CRM: leads and a sales pipeline, bid and opportunity tracking, follow-ups and reminders.
- Premium category, with scheduling and crew communication. Fleet tools are Premium too.
- The won job uses the same cost codes, crews, and machines as the clock-in.
- SmartCrew does not estimate, take off, or do site planning. The bid budget is entered by hand.
- HCSS bid management is a bid pipeline for estimators. B2W Estimate is estimating. Neither is this CRM.
- Starts at $99/month. Contact us for team pricing. You confirm the number on a call with Andrew.

Why dirt work software with crm is one product
The owner of a dirt company sells and builds. The invite shows up. Someone has to answer it, walk the job, and remember to send the number. Then the same people have to run the crew if you win.
A generic CRM knows the contact. It does not know the excavator, the cost code, or the pit. Dirt work software with crm should carry the lead until it becomes a job, then let the field log hours against that job without a second system.
Never let another job slip away.
What Sales CRM actually does
Three things, in Andrew's words: leads and a sales pipeline, bid and opportunity tracking, and follow-ups and reminders. Cards move from lead to in progress, proposal sent, and negotiation. You see a value and a close date. That is the screen.
Log the lead
The city, the GC, or the developer goes on a card with the work and a follow-up date. Nobody has to remember it on Friday.
Track the bid
The opportunity stays visible while you price it in HeavyBid, B2W, AGTEK, InSite, or a spreadsheet. SmartCrew does not build the estimate.
Follow up
Reminders sit on the card. The job does not die because the estimator was on a job site all week.
Win it, then run it
The accepted job picks up crews, cost codes, and a budget you enter. GPS time tracking, machines, tickets, and daily reports land on that job.

The pipeline before you win, and the job page after. Demo data. The budget is typed in. It is not an estimate.
Who dirt work software with crm fits
Pick SmartCrew if
- You do heavy civil or dirtwork with your own crews, and the person who sells also runs the work.
- You want leads, bids, and follow-ups next to GPS time tracking, live crew locations, and job costing.
- You also want equipment hours and maintenance, DOT inspections, daily reports, haul tickets, scheduling, dispatch alerts, crew chat, safety forms, and files.
- You use QuickBooks Online.
- You accept that Sales CRM, scheduling, and crew chat are Premium, and that estimating is somewhere else.
Pick a different CRM if
- You need takeoff and a priced estimate inside the CRM. Use HeavyBid, B2W Estimate, or your current estimating tool.
- You sell house calls, not civil jobs. Jobber, QuoteIQ, and Contractor+ are built for that. See their pages under Compare.
- Your estimators already live in HeavyBid Pre-Construction and only need bid dates. HCSS describes that tool. You may not need a second pipeline.
- You want geofencing, telematics, machine control, or payroll processing. Those are not in SmartCrew.
The field is still the product
A CRM page can drift into sales talk and forget the dirt. The crew still clocks in. They still pick the machine. They still file a DOT inspection and a haul ticket. The office still reads profit on the job. Sales CRM is one Premium category on top of that, not a different company.
Scheduling puts the crew and the iron on a calendar. Dispatch alerts fire when the plan changes before sunrise. Crew chat and job chat replace the group text. Safety forms cover JSAs, toolbox talks, and incidents. File storage holds the plan. QuickBooks Online holds the books. None of those estimate the job, and none of them process payroll.

Crew chat on the phone, and the schedule the office built. Demo data. Sales CRM is the pipeline, not this calendar.
How it compares with a bid list
HCSS, on the bid management page checked November 2026, says you track the project pipeline, details, and key contacts in one place. Pre-Construction adds key dates for the estimating team. That is the right tool for a room of estimators. It is a bid list with a calendar, which their own materials describe, not a sales CRM for the owner who also runs trucks.
B2W Estimate, on the page checked the same day, is centralized cost data for heavy construction estimating and bidding. We did not find leads, follow-up reminders, or a pipeline of people you have not decided to bid. If your search is dirt work software with crm, Estimate answers a different search.
HubSpot and Close are the CRMs a lot of offices already pay for. SmartCrew is meant to replace that second login for the bid pipeline, not to clone a marketing suite. We do not claim their email tools or their ad reports. We claim leads, bids, and follow-ups next to the crew.

Who is SmartCrew for, by crew size?
Dirtwork and heavy civil companies with about 5 to 100 employees. That's who we build for: small to midsized contractors. Small, for us, means a real crew. Not a one-man shop.
| Your company | SmartCrew? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 4 people | Probably not yet | If it's you and a helper, a quoting and invoicing app may be all you need. We built SmartCrew for companies with crews to manage. |
| 5 to 20 people | Yes | The owner still runs a machine some days. The office is one or two people. You don't need more software. You need fewer places to look. |
| 20 to 50 people | Yes | A few crews, a shop and trucks on different jobs. Our own family company runs 20 to 30 guys. This is the size we built it for. |
| 50 to 100 people | Yes | More crews, more iron, more tickets. Same simple app for the field. You see every job against the bid. |
| Over 100 people | Probably not | Bigger companies often want enterprise software with a full-time admin. That's not us. See HCSS HeavyJob vs SmartCrew. |
Questions people ask
What is dirt work software with crm?
It is field software that also tracks leads, bids, and follow-ups. In SmartCrew that CRM is Premium. The field half is GPS time tracking, job costing, equipment, DOT inspections, daily reports, and haul tickets. Estimating stays in your estimating tool.
Does the CRM build the estimate?
No. Sales CRM does not do takeoff, site planning, or estimating. You price the job in HeavyBid, B2W, AGTEK, InSite, or a spreadsheet. You track the opportunity in SmartCrew, and you enter the budget after you win.
Is Sales CRM included on every plan?
No. Sales CRM is a Premium category, along with Scheduling & Communications and Fleet Management. Feature availability varies by plan. Ask on the call which categories you need.
How is this different from HeavyBid Pre-Construction?
HeavyBid Pre-Construction manages bid opportunities and dates for estimators, inside an estimating product. SmartCrew's pipeline is for the dirtwork company that also runs crews. It does not price the job.
Can the crew see the sales pipeline?
The office uses the pipeline. The crew uses the phone for clock-in, inspections, tickets, chat, and reports. You do not have to hand every operator the bid list.
How much does dirt work software with crm cost?
SmartCrew starts at $99/month. The price for your company still depends on size and the features you need, including whether you turn on Sales CRM. Contact us for team pricing.
